FRIENDS OF SCANDINAVIA

Raleigh, North Carolina

Where are they?

The Faroe Islands (a self-governing administrative division of Denmark) can be found in the North Atlantic about 3/5 ths of the way between Norway and Iceland, about 180 miles north-west of Scotland. (They are in the same time zone as Britain.) The Faroes consist of 18 islands, the largest of which--Streymoy--contains the capital city, Tórshavn. The distance from north to south is 70 miles and from east to west is 47 miles.
